The Mission
The WMU Foundation supports the cause of Christ by assisting Woman's Missionary Union® as well as individuals who faithfully support WMU®. The Foundation was established as a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation to provide services to donors who desire to provide funding to WMU. The Foundation is governed by a self-perpetuating board of trustees, which consists of up to 20 professional and businesspersons. WMU's executive director-treasurer and national president serve as ex officio trustees.

The Purpose
The Foundation's major purpose is to facilitate the making of donations for the advancement of WMU missions projects and programs. The WMU Foundation is the organization which receives gifts for the benefit of WMU. This enables donors to support more than one WMU cause and the work of the WMU Foundation through a gift into a fund, endowment, or trust. The Foundation welcomes gifts of all sizes so that the joy of ultimate stewardship may be shared by everyone, whether his or her means are modest or substantial.

The Challenge
Since 1888, Woman's Missionary Union has endeavored to live out its mission through missions education and involvement in an ever-changing world. Yet, the challenges and needs of service and missions have never been more intense. Likewise, the need for financial resources to sustain the WMU mission has never been greater.
